Share information regarding AEDs

Hi all,

Many of you will have to get the AEDs. If your club is affiliated with NYSWYSA, you probably have received several emails on the subject.

I have a few questions about the AEDs and would like to collect some data and make it available to all.

Sharing ideas might make this an easier process, as not all may have the resources. The group as a whole could possibly help with each other’s questions.

There are no right answers to any of the discussion and I want everyone to be open-minded.

These are just of the immediate question:

• If you have already an AED(s), did you buy them or lease them?
• Can you explain your thoughts on reasoning between buying or leasing.
• What companies did you research and what made you finally decide.
• What AED company/model are you using? Or are you considering one?
• If you do have one already, how often do you have to check/certify them.
• Are there any organizations that could be reached out for donations?

Since the AED is new to some but not all, then perhaps you as club officials can share your experience.

For this, I quickly created a forum. On the broomesoccer.org site there is a new selection AED Forum. This will direct you to a new page. As with any forum, you must sign-up and sign-in (relative easy) to participate in the discussion.

I know we are all busy, but this could help many clubs. You can also send me the info and I will add to the forum page.
